Knowing When To Go Against The Grain

Saints, I encourage you to know when to go against the grain, and when to incorporate it.

What grain, you may be asking yourself?

The grain that wants to influence your life; your thoughts, and your Christian walk.

It may appear to be an insignificant matter, or an obvious situation, but I can assure you it is a prop that was placed to derail you.

At times we cannot see with our physical eyes what lies among the grain, because the grain is planted among the open field for all to see, and partake of it at will. It sustains one physically, but it can also bring one down.

Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.  When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. Matthew 13 24-26

The world’s system of living is considered an unwanted plant in the Kingdom, and we have to be alert and discern when the enemy has planted weeds in our lives.

You may have had a bad day that causes you to lash out, or a moment of insecurity that causes you to tell a lie about your personal endeavors. But I can assure that when you woke up, and started your day, the enemy had already planted seeds to hinder your light from shining through.

He was determined to see you casting doubt of the value of living the Kingdom Life upon others.

I encourage you to not become too comfortable or familiar with your surroundings. Always strive to incorporate the grain that was sown into your life by the LORD Jesus.

Beloved, The LORD set a pattern for us to follow through his son, Jesus Christ, and it is the WORD that is sown into our hearts and our minds that will spring forth in full bloom for all to see.

The words or clichés that make us feel good, but do not shape us into the good that GOD weighs and considers, are weeds camouflaged as seeds.

We have to go in the direction the LORD has established for us as individuals. The path that the LORD has me on, or has taken me through is not for anyone else to emulate.

My path was tailored for me before the foundation of this world, and the LORD prepared me while I was in my mother’s womb to overcome, just as he has done for you.

Do not forsake your birthright. Do not create an autobiography that does not tell your story.

We have to mature, Friends, in wisdom from above and not below, to discern the flow of the grain in our lives, and our worth.

A Simple Prayer:

LORD Jesus, Help me discern the weeds that have been planted or sprouted in my life that are choking up the WORD that has been planted in me so that I may love you with my whole heart, mind, and soul. I ask that you give me the strength, through the Holy Spirit, to remove each one by Faith, and empower me to see myself as a beautiful garden that you attend to in Jesus' Name Amen.

Matthew 13 NIV
31.He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.”
